TALK TUESDAYS WITH GIULIANA MELO- SELF LOVE

After a couple of years, I felt strongly guided to start my TALK TUESDAY podcasts.  These will happen once per month and then I will blog on the content so that people can have the notes to refer to.
Today was a deep topic.  SELF LOVE.  I thought I had mastered self love.  I was wrong.  After a photoshoot I had in march, I was propelled into the darkness of healing deeply again.  
You see, seeing myself as beautiful has not been something that I believed.  I don't know why, except my weight has always served to make me feel less than, not enough, inadequate and ugly.
So when I was gifted a full makeup and hair session before my photoshoot, I was projected in a different life.  I saw my beauty and instead of being happy and joy filled, I fell down emotionally.  I think it was because I never felt beautiful.  
So today I want to share three things to do to help you tap into self love.
Instead of obsessing over what is wrong with your body, too fat, too skinny, etc. Embrace the skin you are in.

1. Love yourself this moment.  Right now.. Right where you are at. Enbrace your body,  Tell it you love it.  It may feel like you are lying and you are only expected to do your best.  Accept your body as the home of your soul because that is exactly what it is. Take care and attention as you wash your face, shave your legs and put lotion etc.  Nurture you.
2. Be grateful for your body.  Focus on its functionality not its physicality. That means how it works rather than how it looks.  Do you know the miracle YOU ARE! Your body pumps 2000 gallons of blood every day and beats 100000 times!! Your lungs hold up to 6 litres of air and your brain doesn't stop working. Your kidneys excrete over 2 pints of urine every day.  You get the idea?  it is a miraculous machine. We tend to focus on the external rather than the internal.  Shift that.  Be in the wonder of your body.  Tell it that you love it.  Don't be like me and wait until a cancer diagnosis and your mortality is in question.  do it now!  You can do it.  
3. Recognize and appreciate the beauty within. This one is so vitally important.  Don't focus on the external.  Of course we want to look nice.  There is nothing wrong with that.  We just don't want that to be the primary focus.  Go within to the truth of who you are. You are love, light and all things good.  It is our truest essence.  It is our God-self. Each day write or acknowledge out loud something you love about you. I love my smile.  I know it is my superpower.  Look in the mirror and tell yourself how much you love you.  I know how hard this one is.  It took me time.  And now I do it and believe it.  Stand tall and proud.  Don't forget that invisible crown on your head!!!

Do your best each day.  That is all the Divine expects from us.  We are wonderfully made.  We are made in HIS image.  Be proud of who and what you are.  And there is always room for improvement ... that is what healing is all about.  And it is a journey not a destination.
