In 2015, while working with a mentor, I was presented with the opportunity to choose a word for the year. My word came to me swiftly. It was GRACE. I know GRACE. The Grace of God is healing me.
In the Christian faith this is the definition: ~ the free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.
The contributing authors all came together to show how magical our world is and how connected we truly are. If you are looking for inspiration, this grace-filled collection will restore your faith and re-awaken your sense of wonder!! There are stories of miracles and transformations. In this day and age we must fill up with positivity, and loving words. A miracle is an event not explicable by natural or scientific laws. Such an event may be attributed to a supernatural being (a deity), magic, a miracle worker, a saint or a religious leader.
One such miracle is this story of my friend Lisa and her son Brendan. This is her account.. in her words. Enjoy!!! You are always asking for miracle stories. I don't go sharing Brendan's because most people think I'm crazy! So I'm telling you. To share the miracle and also because I know someday you may counsel someone and it can help. When I was trying for 3, I started preparing myself for the miscarriages and heartache and instead I was diagnosed with stage 2-3 papillary carcinoma. I was told after treatment I would be infertile. After that 2 treatments at 33 years old I started menopause. They scanned my ovaries and said my eggs were to damaged even for IVF. July 2015 two weeks after going through lots of testing I found out I had a 1 mm growth in my neck and days later found out I was pregnant. They said the cancer would grow, that my body had been through to much to carry a baby, that I would be lucky to make 24 week viability. In fact my cancer markers slowly went down the entire pregnancy. I even managed to stay pregnant until 35 weeks he had some issues but he is a fighter and 8 days later we took him home. I had my tubes removed because pregnancy risks are too high for me. When they were removed my biopsy came back clear but my tubes were so scarred from the radiation they were both completely closed and my ovaries were shrunken and not functional. The Dr's told me if I wasn't holding a baby they would say it would be impossible to get pregnant even with every fertility treatment there is. Also my cancer numbers are at 0 for the first time in 4 years and my meds dosage has been lowered for the first time. Our little miracle still has a little work to do but he is doing amazing now. Feel free to share with anyone you feel needs it. Lisa's story and Brendan's purpose in life is to remind of us the magic and miracles God sends. I post time and time again, that miracles happen for those who believe. I believe in miracles. I believe in God. I believe in magic. I believe that we have an amazing life that is supported by God. I hope this blog inspires and uplifts you. I wish Lisa and her husband Chris and their 3 boys many happy years together. Thank you Lisa for sharing. God bless you and keep you well. I love you.
