“It is the very error of the moon.
She comes more near the earth than she was wont. And makes men mad.” —William Shakespeare, Othello Having worked in Healthcare for over 30 years I have seen the effect the moons have on humans regardless of what any research states. Emergency room calls and visits are notoriously higher during full moons and so are psychiatric admissions for suicide attempts and erratic behaviour. There are way more accidents, car and other means. Fights are way more prevalent. Animals become more aggressive and there are more dog bites. There are a number of strange events with those associated with the occult. There are many rituals around full moons. The amazing mystical powers of the full moon affect us so that we may feel headachy and OFF. Some think its the effects of the moon on the water that the body contains. The full moon is a time to release what no longer serves us, inviting an expansion of our minds and bodies. Writing and burning are an effective means to transmute that energy. Many people have uttered the phrase “There must be a full moon out there” in an attempt to explain weird happenings at night. Indeed, the Roman goddess of the moon bore a name that remains familiar to us today: Luna, prefix of the word “lunatic.” Lunar refers to moon. During the cycle of the moon each month, we can use the new moon to plant seeds of intention, and revisit again at the height of full moon so that they might come to fruition. Spiritual people believe that with a new moon you can harness the power to manifest abundance. Regardless of beliefs these moons are a great time to rest, reflect, retreat and be mindful of our emotions and to take extra care when driving, engaging in sports etc. I also know that during full moons many may experience insomnia. In any case enjoy these beautiful moons... Que bella luna :)
