Today, let’s discuss the mind, body, spirit connection of the physical body. How does the mind affect the body? What happens with your spirit and how can you get into alignment so that you are honouring all aspects of your self.
We are spiritual beings in a physical body. The body is our temple. When we ignore the signs or symptoms the body is giving us we manifest dis-ease in the body. My belief and experience is that when we push emotions down and we don’t honour our self, when we feel emotions and we don’t acknowledge pain, anger, frustration or sadness then this energy is held and lives in the body. I learned this the hard way, by manifesting stage three peritoneal cancer. Anger, sadness, rage and pain manifest as diseases such as cancer when we do not release in a healthy manner. I now believe when we are in alignment we won’t get sick or experience disease. When we are out of alignment that is when we are worn down, our immunity is low and so we can pick up bacterial infections and viruses. A healthy body does not manifest disease.
I have learned to listen to my body. When I get a sore throat, I know that I need to speak up. I listened to when my knees are sore and I learned that meant I was feeling out of control. So now when my body speaks to me I listen and do the emotional work behind the symptoms. I ask myself “what messages am I receiving and what do I need to do to move this energy out?” I have a mentor who helps me when I feel stuck. Sometimes the energy is too much to move on your own.
A very important tool I have discovered is the Inna Segal book “ The Secret Language of Your Body.”
It is a great resource to add to your library when you want to know what the emotions are behind the symptoms you are experiencing.
It is also a tool to add for your holistic or energy healing practice.
The mind is a powerful tool. Replace that stinkin thinkin or monkey brain with a positive dialogue. What is your mind saying to your body? What emotions are you eating your food with? The body listens to what the mind says. Pay attention and change your language and thoughts to gentle kind, loving words. The body will respond. The body hears everything you think!
Affirmations are very important. Say them until they feel true to you. Some examples are:
I accept health and healing now.
I accept health into my body.
I see myself living in perfect health.
I am open to releasing unhealthy behaviours.
I release my body to find its perfect weight whatever it may be.
I am attracting people and information that helps me live a healthy balanced life.
Say these whenever you get time. Use bathroom breaks to say them or write them down. Sunny taught me to put alarms on my phone with affirmations. It works!
When you change the messages in your head the body will follow.
For the spirit part of talking to your body, do a daily gratitude, thanking every part of your body for carrying you to today on this amazing journey we call life. You have the power to heal anything you may have manifested.
Ask yourself these questions.:
Has your body fought off infection?
Healed a bruise?
Run a marathon?
Created another human?
Given you pleasure?
Learned a new skill?
This is the time to love your body! Give your body the appreciation it deserves. That is how healing happens. Love your body! That is how the healing happens. You have the power to heal your body.
